I know that dogs lean to control but I got a real reminder this morning.
I was running along with my 14 month old chocolate lab running beautifully at my side. I was super excited that he wasn’t pulling at all (we’ve been working on that) and I was trying to figure out why he was almost leaning on my left leg. While I was busy thinking, he showed me what leaning was for.
I was running straight and he thought we should check out a dog so he leaned into my leg and cut across in front of me.
I think he underestimated the momentum of a full grown human. He was rather startled when I slammed into him and took us both sprawling across the pavement.
So now to work on the lean while running. Thoughts?
